The electricity from the natural gas and biomass generating facilities owned by the Company and its subsidiaries is primarily sold under long-term, fixed price capacity contracts both with unaffiliated wholesale purchasers as well as with Southern’s traditional operating companies. The Company and its subsidiaries construct, acquire, own and manage power generation assets, including renewable energy projects, and sell electricity at market-based rates in the wholesale market.
